Sopore, February 22 (KNO) : Clashes erupted between youth and forces near encounter site in Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. Sources told KNO that after the killing of one militant in the area, the youth took to the streets and pelted stones on forces. They said forces in response used tear gas canisters, thus leading to intense clashes in the area. Earlier, one militant was killed in a gunfight at Warpora area. Reports reaching to KNO said that the one unidentified militant was killed in the encounter that broke out during intervening night of Thursday-Friday after Army’s 22 RR, and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in Warpora area of Sopore. A joint team of Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned Warpora locality of Sopore last night and started a search operation. Meanwhile, administration Sopore issued a statement, “In view of the apprehension of law and order problem, restrictions under sec 144 CRPC are hereby imposed on the gathering of more than 4 persons in entire Sub-division Sopore with effect from evening 21-02-2019 till further orders,” However authorities has been suspended mobile internet service in entire Sopore as precautionary measures.(KNO)
